Wedding in Cape Town? Fancy a short safari?

  • September 10, 2016
  • Not everyone comes to Africa with the express purpose of spending all their time and money on doing a safari. A prime example is the wedding in Cape Town. Cape Town is one of the worlds most magnificent cities, with incredible natural beauty. It is one of the cities that people will willingly travel to for events such as special weddings. You can easily spend a week in Cape Town and if you are involved in a wedding then this time will be filled to the brim.

But you might find that you have a few days spare at the end. So why not consider a short safari – an extension to the Cape Town wedding? South Africa has a wide range of options that are perfect for the short safari. This is a different experience to the ‘purpose-driven’ safari – it is a short but sweet taste. The reserves are more easily accessible and less remote then safari camps in places like Botswana or Zambia, but they still have potential for phenomenal game viewing and a wonderful overall experience.

Probably the best and most authentic short safari experiences in South Africa are found in or adjacent to the Kruger National Park. Private game reserves like the Sabi-Sand and Timbavati can deliver very high quality, exclusive experiences. Small, intimate and luxurious lodges like Dulini are hard to beat. If you are travelling along the Garden Route towards Port Elizabeth, then one of the best bets is Kwandwe Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape.

The range of options is huge, but there will be something perfect for you. Feel free to contact us to see how we can help tailor your ‘post wedding in Cape Town’ safari.
